Follow welding through all its aspects from bid phase when welding philosophy has to be set to Project completions, looking at solutions of high quality level and high productivity, according to Project Schedule, monitoring and supporting Production Phase.
Promote and support new welding solutions, techniques and consumables to achieve the most competitive and strategic results
 
 
Main activities
 
  • Assist and support the Welding Coordinator and/or project teams on all welding matters
  • Prepare a ndt issue preliminary Welding Documents for assigned project or bids
  • Review clients specifications and scopes of work, examine pipe metallurgy and prepare detailed Welding procedures to achieve maximum productivity in accordance with required quality levels
  • Coordinate and schedule personnel and systems for the qualification of welding procedures and welders
  • Review subcontractors tender documents and technical qualifications
  • Assist QHSE Department on subcontractor assessments/audits
  • Review and approve subcontractors Welding submissions
  • Ensure that Welding traceability info are recorded, maintained and available in the required format for all Welding activities to demonstrate achievement of client requirements
  • Review journals and technical papers for new welding technology. Maintain contact with welding equipment suppliers and consumable vendors to promote advances in welding technology
 
 
Requirements
  • Technical Diploma
  • At least 5 years of experience in the same role
  • Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes and regulations. Capability to analyse dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions
  • Knowledge of the metallurgical properties, mechanical and corrosion resistance properties
  • Knowledge of methods for offshore pipeline installation. In particular reference is made to: Laybarge pipeline deployment methods (S-Lay, J-Lay, Reeling, Towing), Pipelay initiation methods (shore pull, dead man anchor, directional drilling), Tie-in methods (above water tie-in, hyperbaric tie-in, diver assisted flanged connection, driverless mechanical connectors), Pipelay contingency operations (abandonment and recovery for weather condition, wet buckle, etc.)
  • Previous experience in Oil & Gas sector or with EPC Company (plus)
  • Very good knowledge of English language (spoken and written)
  • Willing to work abroad
